News From The Land…
We now have a complete and functioning Compost Throne, kitted out and with luxurious decor courtesy of Morgan, our Volunteer Coordinator and designer extraordinaire!
Masterful work on the Yurt base plus the volunteers’ dedicated painting of components enables us to erect the structure and create our first indoor communal and classroom space.
We are excited to learn that nearby on the marshes some cranes have fledged and a juvenile crane was spotted on the land much to our delight. One of the perks of having an office in the middle of the beautiful Somerset countryside.
Our permaculture field through to the apothecary and physic gardens in the East field has been marked out giving an idea of the scale of the area allocated for herbal planting and education.
Volunteering & Training Opportunities
Bridie’s Community Volunteering group now has over 30 registered volunteers and creates a wonderful productive and happy buzz on Tuesdays. Many tasks have been carried out including building the base of the yurt, completion of our first compost loo and building of our plant composting stations using recycled timber.
